• Cracks are produced by thermal stresses, brought about by uneven cooling, lack of water in cooling spaces or excessive scaling of water spaces.
• Gas side corrosion due to sulphuric acid after ingress of moisture.
• Erosion due to fly ash, non burnt fuel particles.
